Do we know who we are? It is the question that repeats itself in my mind all the time. Do we know the essential characteristics that qualify us for our dream job? Are we born with these characteristics and personalities or gain them from our families, or the environment? Being aware and realizing who we are and the exact personalities we have makes it easier for us to search for the suitable future job and saves our time.A career is an essential source of making money and life and desire to live. As a result, people study hard in order to get the right job and position they wont to achieve. I answered some online quizzes with the aim of knowing more about my personality, skills and preferences to facilitate making a decision for my future job and to develop my strengths. As Cherry says, personality is “ made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that make a person unique. In addition to this, personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life.”. I found that I am an ISFJ person. ‘I’ stands for introversion, which means my “natural preference is to work with ideas and concepts”. Somehow, it is true because I prefer to work with computers and look for new things, by myself, that match computer specialties which is one of kind of job that appeals to introverts. ‘S’ refers to sensing, which means that I love “working with detail and practical applications”. ‘F’ stands for feeling. To put it another way, it means I’m a person who helps and communicates with others and that matches a social worker which is one of the types of career which appeal to a feeler. The letter “J” refers to the word judgment. It means I am an organized person and I like to be directed in my work in order to achieve the organizational aim. I found that I am a person who enjoys setting a schedule. Also, I like the work to be accurate. Co-worker is an important motivator to me in my work. As well, I prefer to manage myself and attain my own objectives and ambitions. The environment plays a vital role in the production and the quality of the work, and I’m a person who prefers working in a healthy, friendly and quiet environment (Training and Careers, 2011). Citations I believe that the personality, values and skills of anyone have a vital role in selecting the future career. I answered some questions in the career planner website in order to find out the appropriate future job. So, I found many jobs that suit me for example: Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Chemists, Construction, Machinist. These particular jobs require people to be good at building strong relationships with others. Personality and self-analysis quizzes are the easiest and fastest way to find out our characteristics, skills and things we are good in. Also, these quizzes help us in knowing strengths we need to develop and weaknesses we need to decrease. I realized new values and found skills I have that will guide me in choosing my future career. I suggest each person who is still confused about the future job should test himself/herself by using online quizzes to discover more about the personalities, skills, strengths and weaknesses to know what suit himself/herself in the workforce.
